Students began a new unit called Solids and Liquids. We talked about the three main states of matter and we looked at the properties of solids. It would be very helpful for you to reinforce these words at home: smooth, rough, flexible, rigid, flat, colored, transparent, translucent, opaque, hard, soft, hallow, and pointed.
Students began an engineering project, creating a device to use light or sound to communicate a message.
Students investigated sound waves traveling through string and metal.
Students continued to investigate sound by using rubber bands pulled across a shoe box of varying thicknesses and we adjusted the lengths of the rubber bands.
