Students began learning about sound energy. We started with a "drum" made of rubber pulled tightly over a cup and hit it with a pencil. We observed rice on the rubber bounce.

Students are continuing to learn about light. Monday we looked at the line of reflection. We made hand prints and "reflected" them onto the other side of the paper. We also looked at words and found the words that had a line of reflection. Today in science we observed refraction and talked about a break in the light, just like a fracture in a bone.
Students continue to look at the direction light travels and how to change it. Today we continued reflecting light off mirrors in different directions.
On Monday, the students earned a free day and they chose to play kahoot games.
On Tuesday, we made flowers out of tissue paper and looked at the property of translucent materials. On Wednesday, the students practicing using mirrors to make light change direction. Students did a mystery science activity in which they sorted transparent, translucent and opaque objects.
Students continue to work on transparent, translucent and opaque objects. Today we cut out pictures from magazines and sorted them into transparent, translucent and opaque.
Students continue to review transparent, translucent and opaque objects and try to classify them.
Students learned about transparent, translucent and opaque objects. We classified and sorted objects based on how much light the objects let through them.
