Students brainstormed things we see in the day and night sky. We also drew pictures of the day and night sky and wrote about what we see in the day and night sky.
Students observed an earring and wrote a description and drew it. Then we switched papers to see if the other person could find the earring based on the description.
We read "What is a Scientist?" by Barbara Lehn. We talked about how we do the same things scientists do. Students drew pictures of themselves as scientists.
During class, students learned about safely observing the eclipse. We practiced wearing our eclipse glasses.
Students enjoyed viewing the partial eclipse today before it began raining. Students made pin hole projectors to use to safely view the sun.
Students finished practicing our safety drills by completing the lock down drill. We also watched a video about the solar eclipse and we did a simulation using a ping pong ball to eclipse a light bulb.
Welcome Back! We began the year with our rules and expectations. We also practiced our fire and tornado safety drills.
