Students continue to sort rocks by playing sorting games.
Students began a new unit today called Pebbles, Sand, and Silt. We began with three rocks, which we observed and rubbed together to find that sand came off them.
Students observed the toothpaste bottles after letting them settle overnight. We wrote our opinion about toothpaste being a solid or a liquid and wrote evidence to defend our idea.
Students began an investigation to find out if toothpaste is a solid or a liquid. We worked on listing our evidence that we already had and then began investigating.
Students finished observing their solids in water and their liquids mixed in water.
Students did a mystery science activity about materials and why we use certain materials for certain things. They were challenged to build a hat out of everyday materials. Tuesday they earned a free day for their behavior and they voted to play clever crazes on the computers.
