We started a new unit, Air and Weather. We talked about the words we use to describe weather and what is measured.
Students investigated shortened rubber bands and how the length of the rubber band affects the pitch of the sound.
Students investigated how the thickness of a rubber band affected the pitch of the sound.
Students had a science time and a STEM time today.
During science time, we investigated what happens when we hit a container of water. During STEM time, we finished our unicorn traps. Students observed vibrations using a drum made from a plastic cup and rubber top.
While Mrs. Bick was at a conference, students have:
-learned how silly sounds in cartoons are made and made them -created ducks in STEM using 6 legos Students made hand prints to understand that reflections change direction.
We also looked at refraction. Students are finishing and testing their unicorn traps made with simple machines.
