During STEM class, students tested their wolf houses.
During science class, students used what they have learned about separating small solids using screens to determine if small solids on paper could be separated by certain screens. Students continue to practice using screens to separate small solids.
Students investigated how to separate small solids that are mixed together.
During STEM class, students tested their houses for the big bad wolf.
During science class, students investigated how small solids act in bottles. Mrs. Stoller taught first grade while I was at a conference.
Students learned about how materials have heat conducting properties and can insulate heat. Students tested different materials for how well they were protected against feeling warm things. Then they classified and identified objects based on their properties. Today in science, students will examine small solids. Students investigated things that float and things that sink. We had a challenge to make something that floats sink and something that sinks float.
Students tested their wolf houses in STEM class.
During science class, students measured how many vials of water it took to fill other containers and they made a graph of their data. Students learned that liquids take the shape of their container and can move and flow when the container is tilted.
