Students observed liquids in different containers. We learned that liquids take the shape of their containers and move as we move or turn containers.
Students continue to work on the properties of liquids by charting their properties on a graph.
Students continue to work on liquid vocabulary. Today we played Concentration, Memory or Matching. It doesn't matter what you call it, we turned two cards over, said their property and if they matched, we go to keep the match.
Thank you for working on these terms at home. You can tell which students are practicing their vocabulary. Students continue to review the properties of liquids by playing Go Fish with the vocabulary cards. Please help us reinforce these property terms: viscous, bubbly, foamy, transparent, translucent, and opaque.
Students investigated the properties of liquids by observing different liquids, how they spin in bottles, drip and shake.
We also met our new Eli Lilly Science Coach for first grade- Mr. Larew. Students made the logic puzzle towers out of real materials today to see if the tower would stand.
After building towers and discussing the properties of solids that make good building materials, we did logic puzzles to order some of our solids. Tomorrow we will build the towers the logic puzzles had us build and see if they stand.
Students used their knowledge about the properties of solids to build towers as tall as the could.
