Students discussed what plants and animals need to survive. They picked an animal and drew pictures of the animal in its habitat with the food and water sources it needs.

Students compared plants and animals in different habitats and made a Venn Diagram comparing and constrasting their body parts and behaviors.
Students learned about animal adaptations and discussed how people would be different if we had some of the characteristics that animals have.
We drew pictures of people with animal adaptations. Students learned about animal and plant life cycles. We talked about a life cycle as how a living thing begins, grows and develops and becomes an adult that can reproduce. Students picked a living thing and drew it's life cycle.
Students were able to hold and observe worms. We read the diary of a worm and talked about what worms do to help the earth.
Today we observed worms and we learned about how worms help the soil.
Students played an interactive game about the many uses of earth materials.
We continue to examine how we use earth materials. Today we are learning about sand paper and why different sand paper feels more course than others.
Students took a walk around the school to find ways that we use rocks.
Students observed their local soil in vials and compared it to the homemade soil.
