Students observed luna moth caterpillars today. We compared them to the monarch caterpillars and the mealworms we had yesterday.
Students read a few books "What if I had Animal (Teeth, Hair, etc)". We talked about how we would be different if we had animal characteristics. We drew and wrote about how we would be different.
We observed our caterpillars and we began observing mealworms. No homework
During science time so far, we have been observing monarch butterfly eggs and caterpillars and recording what we found in our notebooks. We also went into the courtyard and found insects and talked about what all insects have in common (6 legs, a head, thorax and abdomen, antennae, wings).
Today we labeled the parts of an insect. |
