Students were challenged to melt ice cubes as quickly as possible. They figured out that adding heat was the best method for melting the ice cubes.

We began a new unit about Changes in Matter. We looked at pictures and identified solids, liquids and gases. We predicted what changes were going to happen in the picture. We also mixed a solid in a liquid and saw bubbling and the solid disappeared.
Students learned how air can be used to push a balloon rocket down a fishing line.
Students learned how fountains are made with tubes with air pushing water out of other tubes.
Students observed air when it is compressed and squeezed and discovered that air can pop a syringe.
