Students did a mystery skype with a class in Minnesota.
Students learned about rolling cups and how the size of a "wheel" affects the direction an object rolls.
Students investigated twirly birds and added a paper clip to the bottom to help balance the weight.
Students investigated rollers. We learned about a wheel and axle system and how they spin together to create the motion. We also made rollers that could turn a corner, wobble, and do tricks.
Students continue to learn about objects that rotate by investigating twirlers and how wings help twirlers rotate.
Today we observed the motion a top makes when it is balanced and spinning. We used tops with a marker tip and we made spinning top art.
