Noa and David were our meteorologists today. We learned how to read a thermometer and tell the temperature.
During science class, Navah and Felix were our meteorologists. We made a thermometer to more clearly understand how scientists measure temperature.
During STEM class, we learned about shapes and explored tangrams. Dina and Caleb were our class meteorologists today.
We learned about how scientists describe the sky's appearance, partly cloudy, overcast, sunny, snowy, etc. Students began the Air and Weather unit. We got a notebook and journal and recorded the weather.
Students practiced observing like scientists. We picked a marble, drew and wrote about the marble. Then we switched papers and found out if the other person could find our marble.
During STEM class, we defined the problem we are trying to solve and figured out the criteria our client needed. Students practiced our lock down drill. We read What is a Scientist? and we drew ourselves as scientists.
We finished our drill practices.
We read What is a Scientist? and drew pictures of ourselves as scientists. Welcome Back!
We began our year with students asking questions about what science would be like this year. Then we talked about expectations and procedures. During our STEM class this afternoon, we talked about hamster habitats and how we might design one. No homework |
