Students brainstormed and designed a habitat to build in our classroom.
Students observed plants from different habitats and made predictions about what habitats the plants belong in.
No homework Students finished their seed design and the "tree" (played by Mrs. Bick) dropped the seeds. We had three different zones of darkness to test. If the seed landed outside the zone of darkness, the seed grew.
Students watched a Mystery Science challenge about seed dispersal and how seeds have to be able to move away from the tree they fall from to avoid shade. Students designed a seed to drop from the tree.
No homework Students observed their radish seeds. We drew and wrote about their growth in our notebooks.
Students discussed why plants are green and how they make their own food.
Students set up radish seeds with different variables in their situation, some without water, some without sun, etc to find out what seeds need to grow.
