Students finished their lab of separating a solid mixture.
No homework Students began looking at mixtures of solids today. We used different sized meshes and a magnet to separate the solid.
Homework due tomorrow- Read p. 8-13 (in the book or in your email) and then choose an object and write 5 physical properties of the object Students learned about liquid density. Liquids have the ability to float and sink just like solids do. We ordered colored water by density.
Homework due Th- Read p.7 and answer the questions sent in the email. Homework due Fri- Read p. 8-13 and choose an object to write at least 5 physical properties that are included in the reading. Students experimented with the liquid property of viscosity. They ran liquid races to find out which liquid was more viscous.
Homework due Thursday- Read p. 7 in the Structures and Properties of Matter book and answer the questions sent in your email. Students investigated physical properties of matter by testing the buoyancy, hardness and magnetism of different objects.
No homework Students investigated how particles change in order to evaporate and condense.
Homework due Th-Brain Pop States of Matter video and quiz Homework due Fri- Brain Pop Water Cycle video and quiz On Friday, students had their free day. They chose to do a mystery skype. They discovered the class was from TX. Today, we observed blue ice cubes melting in hot water. We were able to see the blue particles come off the ice cube and mix in with the hot water. HOmework- Brain Pop app, login shhamstra password hhai, go to the States of Matter video and then do the quiz. Email Mrs. Bick your score of 8 or more by Thursday. Thank you to the PTO for our brain pop subscription!! |
