5th graders lucked out today with TWO science times. During the second science time, we had a mystery skype with a second grade class in Rhode Island. We learned about Rhode Island and they learned about Indianapolis.

We had a guest speaker today. Mr. Matt Sparks came to talk with our class about density and how you calculate the density of metals and jewelry to discover if they are real. Students enjoyed calculating density and using Mr. Sparks' machine. Students earned a free day with their behavior.
Homework due Thursday: MBC Schoolwork-Archimedes Principle Students skyped with a class in Texas and guessed their location. It was lots of fun to use the answers from our questions to figure out where they were. Homework due Thursday: MBC Schoolwork Students designed and began an experiment to find out if water changes mass or volume when it goes through phase changes.

Homework due Thursday: History of Rubber reading and Q and Chemistry Intro reading and questions. Students investigated the density of different materials. They measured the mass and volume and calculated density.

Mrs. Lindsey Jackson from DOW AgScience and Crop Ambassadors talked with our class about crops, pesticides, technology in agriculture, and careers in agriculture.
