Students finished going over the study guide for the test they will have in science over the skeletal system on May 4th.

Students did not have science due to ISTEP.
Homework due Friday: 2 articles have been sent to your 5th grader about prosthetic limbs. They need to read those articles and write an essay talking about what they think the most important things are to consider for making a prosthetic limb for someone. They need to use the essay expectations from Ms. Mazelin's class. (5 paragraphs total, 1 introduction paragraph, at least 3 body paragraphs, 1 conclusion paragraph, indentation, complete sentences, topic sentences for each paragraph, etc) Students began an activity during which we learned about our response time when we are experiencing a stimulus.
Students had a free day that they earned for their behavior. They chose to watch Magic School Bus Flexes its Muscles and read a Science News about the body systems.
No homework Students made thumb models today. We learned about tendons and ligaments and where the muscles are that make our fingers move. We also looked at a 3D skeleton and muscular system on nearpod.
Homework due tomorrow: 1- Your amazing opposable thumb article and Q 2- Comparing Joints article and Q pg12 both of these assignments are in its learning and both need a 5th grade helper recorded Students made model leg bones showing the contracting and relaxing of muscles and how they move the bones.
Homework due Friday: 1-Your Amazing Opposable Thumb and Q, 2- Comparing Joints and Q p.13 of article, both assignments are in its learning Students used bone models to reconstruct the leg of a rat and a chicken. We discovered the type of joints in the legs of these animals and how those bones fit together with joints.
