Students worked on separating their mixtures made last time.
Homework due tomorrow: Solutions Up Close in email, Read the article and write a paragraph explaining dissolving in simple terms to a child. Students worked on their homework and did clever crazes.
Homework due Friday: Solutions up close in your email, read this article and write a paragraph (at least 3 sentences) about how a solid dissolves using easy to understand and small words. Students earned a free day with their behavior. They chose to watch a video about Mixtures and Solutions and they played Clever Crazes.
No homework Students learned the difference between a mixture and a solution. They mixed several solids and liquids together and determined if they made mixtures or solutions.
Homework due tomorrow: 1) Mixtures reading in email, write 1 main idea sentence for each paragraph, should have 15 total 2) Taking Mixtures Apart reading in email, list the properties used to separate mixtures and the tools used to do so, should have 5 properties and 5 tools. Students finished the activity of separating solids. We talked about the Law of Conservation of Mass and how the mass at the beginning of the activity should have equaled the mass at the end.
Homework due Friday: 1) Mixtures Reading(in your email) write a main idea sentence for each paragraph. You should have at least 15 sentences when you're done. 2) Taking Mixtures Apart reading (in your email), read the article and list the properties mentioned in the article used to separate mixtures, then list the scientific tool used to separate the mixture.
