Students built their own life boats with sizes of their choosing to determine if the size of the boat affects the capacity and amount of passengers it will hold.
Homework- it's learning, What do scientists do crossword puzzle, due Thurs. Students took a pre-assessment for our upcoming unit, Earth and Space Systems.
We also went over missing homework. Please ask your child if they are missing any work in science class. No homework Students began a notebooking activity in which they created life boats. They measured the capacity of the life boats and how many passengers (pennies) the life boat could hold before it sank.
Homework due Friday- Go to it's learning, go to the library, find two websites/videos about the scientific method and compare and contrast them. Write your compare and contrast on an email, on paper or in notability. Students learned that there are several versions of the scientific method. Students compared and contrasted scientific methods in their groups.

Students completed their hopes and dreams. They also added their reasons for being a scientist to our mind map. We took an interest survey.
Homework-Your homework is in your email called What do scientists do- open the attachment in notability and read the assignment, complete the empty squares, and the sum it up. Due Thursday Students reviewed the scientific method that we use in science class.
We were excited to welcome back Mrs. Sailer from Eli Lilly. She is our Eli Lilly Coach and helps us in science class.
We did an observation activity today in which every student chose a necklace and they observed it like a scientist, drew, and wrote about it. Then we emailed another student our observation and the other student had to find our necklace. Homework due tomorrow: Think about what scientists do. What do you do that is similar to what scientists do? Write a response that will complete this sentence "I am a scientist because......." You can write it on paper or email it to Mrs. Bick Today in science we focused on our iPads. We set up our email, learned how to use its learning, set up our lock and home screen.
