Kindergarten students had a special science time today for a day last week that we missed. We have been working on our new unit, Weather and Sky. Over the last several days, we have brainstormed ideas about weather, sorted objects that we see in the day and night sky, and today we talked about how the weather is really 4 things- temperature, precipitation, cloud cover and wind conditions. We determined what the weather was at the time.

Students began a new unit, Weather and Sky. We went out to the courtyard and observed the sky and weather.
No homework Students completed the crane game in which they moved a paper wrecking ball to knock down a cup wall without knocking down the paper houses. They learned that the higher they hold the wrecking ball, the more force was added and often knocked over the paper houses.
No homework Students continued to learn about forces and motion with mystery science lessons online. They watched a video each day, did an interactive activity and discussed forces and motion.
No homework Students tested their invention (swing/ramp combination) to see if it would knock down dominoes.
No homework Kindergarten earned their first free day for good behavior in class. They voted to watch a Magic School Bus video- "Sees Stars".
