Students observed wood and water on the wood. Sometimes drops of water bubble up on wood and sometimes it is absorbed. We also began looking at the floating and sinking tendencies of wood.

Students continue to learn about wood and what things are made of wood.
Kindergarten earned a free day with their behavior choices.
Students began a new unit, Materials in Our World. We started by talking about what materials mean and where the materials we use to build things come from. We focus first on wood.
Students finished testing their inventions and evaluated how well they worked.
Thursday students didn't have science.
Friday students tested their blocking the sun or cooling the air inventions. Yair was our meteorologist. |
General Information:
Kindergarten students have science twice a week on Tuesday from 1:30-2pm and Friday from 3-3:30pm. Kindergarten students do not have science homework or tests. Kindergarten Science Units:
