Today students investigated sawdust and shavings. We put them in water and observed their properties.
Students investigated how to shape wood with sanding and whittling.
Students made a graph of their data about sinking different types of wood. We made the graph out of paper clips and then made the graph on paper.
Students counted the number of paper clips they had to attach to the wood pieces to sink them. We compared the amount and made a bar graph.
We discovered that wood floats and we figured out that in order to make it sink, we had to add something heavy to it.
