Students earned a free day and on Thursday we watched a Magic School Bus video about hatching eggs. On Friday, we held the chick and we made plywood by gluing pieces of wood together.

Students made plywood by gluing pieces of wood together.
Students met our new chick and learned about the chick's parts and what the chick needs to survive.
We had one chick hatch over night. We think that the egg was already incubating under the mother hen when they were collected and brought to us. The rest of the eggs have another 10 days before they are expected to hatch.
Students used the sawdust and shavings to make particle board.
