Students reviewed for their test on Friday by playing kahoot.
Homework- Study for the test and return your Physics of Sound book

Students heard sounds through solids, liquids and gases. We learned that sounds travel best through solids because the particles are close together and the vibrations can be carried more efficiently.
HOmework- Study for the science test. The test is Friday. Students need to return their Physics of Sound books on Friday. Friday students learned about the length of objects and how that affects the pitch the objects have.
Monday they reviewed their study guide for the test they will have Fri Dec. 1. We also learned about how the tension in the string affects pitch. Homework due Wednesday- Violin Response sheet On Friday, students began their sound unit with learning that different objects have specific sounds when they are dropped and we can tell what an object is by the sound it makes. We also learned that sounds are caused by vibrations.
On Monday, students learned that the speed of the vibration makes sounds have a certain pitch. We didn't have class Wednesday due to Music program rehearsal. Homework due Friday- Listen to this Sound reading and questions Students had science on Tuesday, instead of Wednesday, due to music program practice. We began a unit about sound. We did an activity with Mystery Science in which we made cup phones.
Homework due Friday- ISTEP Q given out Monday Students had their free day. They voted to watch a video. I chose a Magic School Bus video about sound.
Homework- ISTEP Q due Friday We learned about fish and plant fossils. We observed fish and plant fossils. Then we learned about how fossils are formed. Finally, we worked through a past ISTEP science question about fossils.
No homework Students took their test today on Earth Materials. They also took a pre-test to find out what they already know about our next unit, Physics of Sound.
