Students learned about flight on Monday and today we had a guest speaker from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. Students learned about recycling and how long it takes different materials to naturally decompose.

Students learned that the force moving objects forward is called thrust. They also learned about the opposite force to thrust which is friction. We tried rolling our cars on different surfaces to see which one had the most friction.
No homework Students learned about two of Newton's Laws of Motion. We explored how the amount of force affects the motion of a vehicle.
No homework Students began to learn about force and motion. We built cars with knex pieces. The students had a challenge to build a car that could roll 100 cm in 20 minutes.
Homework- Make a Thank you card for Mrs. Grogan due Wednesday Students had earned a free day for their behavior. They chose to watch a Bill Nye video about Motion and Forces.
NO homework Students took their test today over Energy Works. We worked on our water wheels.
No homework We had one chick hatch over night. We think that the egg was incubating under the mother hen for several days before the eggs were collected and brought to us. We expect the rest of the eggs to hatch in 10 days.
