Students learned the names of the phases of the moon and learned how to identify the different phases.
Homework due Friday- Read p. 4-8 in your science book, answer the questions on p.8 on a piece of paper We repeated our activity where we made shadows and talked about the location of the shadow compared to the light source. Then we made the connection between shadows with our flashlight and shadows made by the sun.
Homework due Friday- Read p. 4-8 in your science book and complete questions on p.8 on paper Students observed the sun's location and their shadows this afternoon. We learned about the sun setting and rising and how the sun appears to move across the sky.
No homework We continued to inventory our robotics equipment.
Students learned about shadows and how the direction of a shadow can change. Shadows can change because the object blocking the sun moves or shadows can change because the light source appears to move. Students were challenged with the task of making shadows of an immovable object a certain length by moving their flashlights.
Homework due Friday- Read p. 1-3 in the science book and answer the questions on p. 3 Students began our new unit, Sun Moon and Stars. We went outside and observed the sun's location in the sky and measured our shadows.
Homework due Friday- Read p. 1-3 in your book and answer the questions on pg.3 on paper We began our first unit, Sun Moon and Stars.
No homework Students finished our observation activity. We also took a pre-assessment over our first unit, Sun, Moon and Stars.
