Students are continuing to focus on deposition and today we put plaster in our stream models to highlight where the water eroded the sediment and deposited it to a new place. We also talked about how fossils form from layers of sediment being pressed together similar to how the sediment layers are being pressed in the stream table.
Homework- Deposition article the students chose in class and questions due Friday Students learned about deposition by running water in their stream tanks and seeing a delta.
No homework Students finished mapping their stream table models and identifying rivers and landforms on their map.

No homework Students compared the elevations of rivers, lakes and oceans with that of the land around them.
Homework due Wednesday- Flowing River Reading and questions, remember that you only need to choose one of the questions on the last page to answer. Students began building their invention for protecting the town from a landslide.
No homework Students brainstormed and drew individual plans for designing a way to prevent homes and cities from landslides.
Homework- Rocksicle due Monday, Feb 13 Students learned about erosion and weathering and the effect of landslides using mystery science videos and activities.
