Students modeled how we see the phases of the moon using a styrofoam ball and light.
Homework- Night Sky Log due Friday Students began a unit about the Moon. We began with putting moon phases in the order we think they would go and brainstorming what we think we know about the moon. Then we learned the names of the different phases of the moon.
No homework Students observed an earring and wrote a description and drew it. Then we switched papers to see if the other person could find the earring based on the description.
Students measured the air temperature for 20 minutes and put the data on the globe observer app.
Students enjoyed viewing the partial eclipse today before it began raining. Homework- Write a paragraph (at least 3 sentences) about their eclipse experience, due Wednesday Students made a pin hole projector and took it outside to view the sun.
No homework Students discussed what they already knew about the solar eclipse happening on Aug. 21. We watched a video explaining how the eclipse happens. We also did a simulation of a ping pong ball eclipsing a light bulb.
