Students learned how to use the HHAI online platform, it's learning. They took a few sample assignments to learn how to answer the questions and then they took a pre-assessment for our first unit in science.

Today we finished our life boat activity by recording our class data, discussing our data, writing a claim and evidence, conclusion and reflection. We also welcomed Mrs. Grogan, from Eli Lilly, back as our coach.
Homework- Breakfast Bar graphing sheet due Wednesday Fourth graders had an impromptu long science time today. Yay! We measured the capacity of our new boats and how many passengers (pennies) the boats could hold. We graphed our data. Then we switched boats with other groups and predicted the amount of passengers based on the boat's capacity and our graph.
No homework Students built their own life boats and discussed ways to minimize variables.
No homework Students began an activity making life boats, testing how many pennies the life boats will hold and measuring the capacity of the life boats. We will use this activity to review our notebooking steps.
Homework- Read the packet "What is Science" Complete the blank spots in the packet and the Sum it Up. Due Wednesday Students reviewed the scientific method we will be using in science class. They also took an interest survey.
Students practiced observing like a scientist. Each student chose a necklace and observed it by drawing and writing about it. Then we switched notebooks and another student tried to find their necklace based on their observations.
No homework Today students listed their hopes and dreams for science this year. We also made a mind map about how scientists get new ideas.
Homework- Science News (read and do the crossword puzzle) due Wednesday Friday in science class, we began with expectations and procedures. We also practiced our safety drills.
