Students learned about wind erosion on Friday. Today we observed wind deposition in the form of sand dunes and ripples.
Homework due Wednesday- Glacier Worksheet Students finished their activity on glaciers and learned how glaciers erode and deposit new material.
No homework Students used homemade glaciers to observe how ice moves across land and picks up sediment.
Homework- Glacier reading and questions due Wednesday Students learned about how rocks rub together in a process called abrasion. We also set up river jars with water and 2 rocks that we shake to simulate how rocks rub together in a river.
No homework Students worked with the stream tables again today. They focused on what the sand was doing. They could see grains of sand being carried by the water. We learned about sediment, erosion and deposition.
No homework Students investigated the roles that different variables (such as amount of water, slope of the land, number of sources, having building and houses) make on the formation of a river.
Homework due Wed- Flowing from a river near you Reading and Questions- do Q 1-8 then choose one of the open ended questions to do Students earned a free day with their behavior choices. They chose to watch a video. They saw Magic School Bus "Rocks and Rolls".
No homework Students learned the technique and procedure to set up a stream table today. We put water in the stream table and observed a "river" form and a delta.
