Students reviewed for their science test by playing a kahoot game. The test is Wednesday.

Students analyzed several minerals to find out if they make up the rock granite.
Homework- study for the test on Wednesday Students observed the evaporation dishes from the rocks and looked for evidence of calcite crystals.
Homework due Friday- Learning About Rocks reading and questions Students got their study guide for the test they will have next week on Earth Materials. The test will be Nov. 1. We also reviewed what we've learned so far with a kahoot game.
Homework- Learning About Rocks reading and questions due Friday, study for the test Students observed their evaporation dishes and found salt crystals. We learned that crystals are identified by their shape.
We also discovered that the mineral calcite fizzes in vinegar and now we're looking for calcite in rocks. No homework Students measured the hardness of minerals using a paper clip, a penny and their fingernail.
Homework- Response sheet Mock Rocks due Friday Students put the pink and grey dough from their mock rocks in a vial with water and we let the ingredients settle. Then we poured the water into an evaporation dish to see if there are any materials in the water.
No homework Students took their mock rocks apart to find out what "minerals" are in them.
No homework Students began a new unit in science today- Earth Materials. We began with taking apart "mock rocks" to discover that rocks have many minerals that create them.
