Students investigated static electricity by rubbing styrofoam balls on their shirts and then putting them near small pieces of paper and other styrofoam balls and observing a repelling force.
Homework- Magnetism reading due Friday Students continue to learn about magnetic force by experimenting with bar magnets and what happens when you put similar and different poles together.
No homework Students observed magnetic filings with bar magnets. They were able to observe the magnetic fields and how the magnetic filings behaved in them.
No homework Students investigated the strength of magnetic force by trying to lessen the force by placing plastic spacers between washers and measuring how many washers it took to break the bond.
Homework due Friday- Magnet Scavenger Hunt We had a guest speaker in science today. We learned about recycling, what can be recycled and how we can take care of the earth.
Students finished the activity we began before the break about heavy loads being carried by a car.
