Students measured the capacity of their life boats and how many passengers their life boats would hold. We also made a line graph of our results.

Homework- Graphing sheet due Friday Students began learning about how we notebook in third grade using an activity making life boats.
No homework Students talked about one scientific method that we will use in science class. We will be making predictions, writing procedures and conclusions, and using our data as evidence.
We also took an interest survey. Today we finished brainstorming what a scientist does.
We also observed as scientists. Each student picked a necklace and observed it, drew a picture of it, and wrote words about it. Then we switched papers with another student that tried to find our necklace. Homework- Read the article "Are you a Scientist" and do the questions. Due on Friday We finished practicing our safety drills. We also talked about the hopes and dreams students have for science class this year. We started a mind map recording all of our ideas about what a scientist does.
No homework Students went over expectations and procedures in science class. We also began practicing our safety drills.
