Students learned about Sound on Monday and did several centers to learn about sound. Today in science we had a guest speaker from the Indiana Department of Environmental Managment. We learned about worms and how they decompose organic materials.

Students observed plant and aquatic animal fossils. We learned about animals and plants that are around today and resemble those fossils. We also learned about where fossils are found and that the earth might have looked different than it does now.
No homework Students investigated how environmental factors such as droughts, overcrowding, pollution, etc cause changes in how organisms survive.
Homework due Friday: 1- Make a Thank you card to Mr. Alberts 2- Magnificent Minerals reading assignment Students earned a free day with their behavior. They chose to watch a Magic School Bus video about hatching a chick.
Students finished the activity about camouflage and how animals survive in their environment.
NO homework Students learned about predator and prey relationships and how camouflage helps protect an animal.
Homework- Bird prediction sheet due Friday We had a chick hatch overnight! We think that the egg was already incubating under it's mother hen when it was collected and brought to us. The others 10 days left to hatch.
Students experimented with beak adaptations of different birds and how the adaptation helps the bird eat certain food.
No homework Students had a guest speaker from Crop Ambassadors. Mrs. Jackson taught us about how farmers prevent soil erosion and water pollution with their irrigation and planting techniques.
No homework Students observed their Brassica plants. We also discussed variations in traits and how variations and adaptations help animals survive.
